In English

You are warmly welcome to my homepage. I am Marianna, psychoanalyst training candidate at the C.G. Jung Institute in Copenhagen, which is the only member organization of IAAP (International Association of Analytical Psychology, iaap.org) that in Scandinavia organizes a 6 year psychoanalyst training of jungian orientation.

I have always been intrigued by the mystery of the psyche, by the unconscious in particular, after having suffered anxiety and panic attacts for a long period in my youth. Instead of avoiding and denying our fears and wounds, we may find a meaning in them, when we meet them step by step in a space and in a company where we feel safe and accepted.

Jungian analysis is a well-researched method of treatment, when you feel that a psychological problem or symptom causes you suffering and prevents you from living the life that belongs to you. These problems may be panic disorder, anxiety, depression, addictions, traumas, life crisis and different fobias. Sometimes the problem is just a loss of meaning or lack of direction in life.

Client work under the supervision of experienced training analysts is part of my training program.

I have signed to adhere in my analyst work to the Code of Ethics of International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP) and European Association For Psychotherapy (EAP). You can find them here: Code of Ethics in English.

Why jungian analysis?

Who look outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens. (C. G. Jung)

Jungian analysis aims, together with the client, to find an understanding of the unconscious needs and sides of personality that lie behind the psychological symptoms and problems. These needs and sides of personality may have been forbidden or unaccepted and thus have been denied existence. The person may feel that he/she is living a life defined by someone else or may experience that to be accepted, he/she has to conform to external expectations. He/she loses touch with him/herself.

To find a way back, one must look inside. In jungian therapy the analyst is a co-traveller, who supports the client in his/her journey back to him/herself. In addition to talk, dream work, active imagination and body work are utilized as methods.

About Marianna

I am a psychoanalyst candidate at the Copenhagen C.G. Jung Institute. By first education I am a Master of Science in Economics, and in addition I have completed several psychology and leadership related studies in different universities. My ”daily profession” at the moment is at Aalto University, where I work as the Chief Financial Officer. I also have long experience in different management and teaching assignments. I am an adoptive mother and through that role trained in attachment in adoptive children and e.g. the Theraplay method. I am a student member of Finnish Association of Analytical Psychology.

I wish to serve the humanity as a psychoanalyst after my graduation. Our psyche is a multitude, and we should strive to embrace our inner diversity to become whole, not perfect.

My working languages are Finnish, English, Swedish, and Spanish.

A cornerstone of jungian analyst training tradition is the analyst’s own therapy, since the therapist cannot support the client further than the level of his/her own inner development. I have participated in a psychoanalytical therapy group during 2009-2015, and started my own jungian analysis in 2019, which continues throughout my education.
